The end of The Tour de Farce

The boys arrived safely in Chamonix on Friday 10th September after cycling 651 miles through all manner of weather conditions and health conditions.

This blog will continue to update, as the boys have further fundraising activities planned for September and October, including another cycling event (although considerably shorter than this one!).

Thank you for following the blog - and please keep following it in the future.

End of Day 2

Day two saw the boys cycle 100 miles from Calais to Peronne, where they arrived safely early evening. Highlights from today include getting lost in a small French town and discovering that apparently you can't cycle on all dual carriageways in France.... A big thank you to all the British tourists who've sponsored them on route too!

Here's what the boys have to say:

Stewart: "It was a long day which felt like being on the sea because of the amount of ups and downs the route threw up. The highlight for me was visiting a WW1 cemetery in Arras. It's fair to say it moved us all. It was the first time there was silence amongst us caused entirely by the raw sense of loss around us. Tomorrow sees us heading towards Chateau Thierry, but for now...sleep....!!"

Paul: "Apart from falling off my bike in the middle of a French town, I've had another brilliant day although my legs feel like they want to fall off!! The scenery was again amazing, and all the various war graves made all of us feel moved about the sacrifices made."

George: "A another brilliant day. Thank you to the helpful French driver whose fist shaking alerted us to the fact that you can't always cycle on dual carriageways in France... The 2 longest cycles are out of the way, which is a real achievement. Big thank you to my Aunt & Uncle who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary today and who requested donations as presents - £161.50 extra towards the total! Night all."
