The end of The Tour de Farce

The boys arrived safely in Chamonix on Friday 10th September after cycling 651 miles through all manner of weather conditions and health conditions.

This blog will continue to update, as the boys have further fundraising activities planned for September and October, including another cycling event (although considerably shorter than this one!).

Thank you for following the blog - and please keep following it in the future.

End of Day 1

They've made it through central London and to Calais safely and without any hiccups (unless you count Steve being bitten by ants....).

The first 60 miles seemed to be all downhill to Maidstone, which left George wondering if they were in fact lower than sea level when they arrived there. After a re-fueling stop thanks to Kyle the boys carried onto Folkestone, up some pretty steep hills, and arrived at about 2.45. 97 miles in total - job done. The boys are now sleepling like babies in a hotel just outside Calais, gathering themselves in preparation for tomorrow's 100 miler.

Here are a few words from Stu, George & Steve:

George: "well a very successful and enjoyable day. everything went to plan and schedule - well done Stu! meeting kyle at all the stops and getting through london unscathed were a couple of the highlights - but cyling down a dual carriageway certainly was not...! brilliant so far!

Steve: "what a great start to the tour! excluding having a rogue flying ant wreaking havoc in my cycling shorts and then subsequently dropping my sunglasses whilst trying to dig out the insect bite cream, i had a near perfect day. the icing on the cake was big ben chiming away at 6am as we left parliament square. keep the donations coming!

Stu: "awesome first day, best parts were blasting through central lndon and the views from the hill just near sidcup - the only low coming from having to cycle a few miles down a busy dual-carriageway! Peronne here we come!!
